Students from Christchurch have been involved in various ‘Social Skills’ based activities this year.

A group of students who have low vision from BLENNZ participated in the event “Mural Madness in New Brighton”.

Students from the Homai Campus School made a positive start to the theme for Term 3 “Living Things” with a visit to RNZFB Guide Dog Services.

Staff and students were met by Colin Christie (Dog Care & Welfare Manager) who welcomed them and showed the students the dogs being trained to avoid obstacles on the driveway. They were then introduced to a 6 month old puppy from the V litter while Colin explained the importance of socialising as part of the young dog’s training. Continue Reading →

The Blind Foundation works in partnership with BLENNZ to provide services for children, young people and their families and whānau. The Child and Family team within the Blind Foundation brings to the vision education team, expertise and experience in Orientation and Mobility, Adaptive Daily Living, Recreation programmes and family and student support and counseling
