Kia ora everyone and welcome to Māori Language Week 2017!

The theme Kia ora te reo Māori was chosen to celebrate New Zealand’s indigenous greeting, and also as the words ‘Kia Ora’ are an exact description of the intent of the new partnerships for te reo Māori revitalisation between the Crown and Māori under the new Māori Language Act 2016.

Deafblind Awareness Week 2017

June 25, 2017 by blennzict | 0 comments

DeafBlind Awareness week runs from 25 June to 1 July, 2017.

DeafBlindness or dual sensory experience is as unique and diverse as our learners.  Our young people can have varying degrees of vision and hearing; however the combined effect can present distinctive challenges with access, communication, orientation and mobility and connection to the wider world.  Raising awareness is the first step to understanding.

For more information about DeafBlind Awareness check out Deafblind UK and Deafblind Scotland.
